Water Coolers, Fountains and Hot Water Boilers,
Studies have shown that, on average, children of infant school age can require around 1.5 litres of water a day. In secondary schools this rises to at least 2 litres, and by college age 2.5 litres; working adults can need up to 3 litres. With our food contributing around 20% of that daily water requirement, the rest needs to be made-up within our fluid intake, showing the important contribution that drinking water can provide within anyone’s daily fluid intake, both students and teachers alike.
Our mains fed Water Coolers are the cost-effective option to bottled water coolers, providing a constant supply of clean, fresh-tasting water with the added benefit of a water supply that never runs out. Installation is normally free of charge up to 30 metres from the nearest mains point, subject to a free site survey, and our rental package is inclusive of bi-annual service visits and filter changes.
We supply cooler models with features particularly suited to the education sector such as:
- High capacity, direct chill systems which supply up to 40 litres of chilled, filtered water per hour and offer an immediate draw off of 120 cups.
- Dispensing areas large enough for students to fill their sports bottles
- Alarmed drip tray overflow systems
- The ability to connect them to mains drainage
- A three-quarter sized fountain designed for younger students, which comes with leak detectors and wall fixing brackets
- SIPP sanitising systems – daily self-sanitising of the cooler’s reservoir
Our range of mains fed Water Boilers all dispense an easily accessible and constant supply of filtered hot water for beverage making, reducing the time needed to make that much need brew and providing more downtime for hard-working colleagues.
We also offer a range of Service Packages for your own Water Coolers, Boilers and Fountains.
Our Recommendations For Water Coolers & Water Boilers In Schools & Colleges
Water Coolers & Boilers for Staff Rooms & Common Rooms
For teachers, their staff room is the hub of the school. It is their social space, their meeting room, their canteen and, at times, their temporary refuge from the working environment.
Students also use communal areas as social space, for shared study and discussion, as a canteen and for downtime between lectures. By the time they reach college or university, students are fully-aware of how proper hydration helps them feel refreshed throughout the day and improves their study abilities.
Our mains fed Water Coolers are the cost-effective option to bottled water, providing a constant supply of clean, fresh-tasting water with the added benefits of a water supply that never runs-out and no heavy lifting to change to a new bottle.
Our range of mains fed Water Boilers all dispense an easily accessible and constant supply of filtered hot water for beverage making. They reduce the time needed to make that much-needed brew, thus providing more downtime for hard-working colleagues and students.

Fountains & Water Coolers for School Canteens & Dining Areas
In a recent study, nearly a quarter of children and adolescents reported drinking no plain water at all, showing that children need to be introduced to the importance of drinking water as a part of their daily fluid intake as early as possible in their educational life.
There is no better time or place to do this collectively than at lunchtime in canteen areas. However, one of the biggest barriers to this is the queuing caused by the need to supply so many students within such a short timescale.

Fulston Manor School
Over the past forty years Fulston Manor has established itself as a school with an outstanding record of success across a vast range of activities.
The school recently completed an £7m building programme including a new Sixth Form Centre. During that programme, Glug Glug Glug were contacted by the school’s Business Manager regarding the provision of water coolers for the new centre, plus the need to review the existing provision of drinking water across the school. At that time, the school were with another supplier and were using a combination of both bottle fed water coolers, which were proving costly and time consuming, and mains fed units.
We visited the school to discuss with their Assistant Business Manager who in the school would be the main users, and meet with the building contractor to view proposed cooler locations for the new centre. We then carried out a free survey of the whole school site and confirmed that we could install mains fed water coolers in both the new locations and in those locations where bottle fed units were being used. We proposed that thirteen mains-fed water coolers would be needed for use by pupils and staff in total, bracketed to the wall, for safety, where required.
Many thanks for the excellent service that you and Glug Glug Glug have been giving to the Cable & Wireless contract. Our Helpdesk Manager, has phoned me to let me know how impressed he and his whole team are with the quickness of your response to their calls to you.
